Individual Log - Prem
The majority of this week was spent testing the functionality of the valve enclosure and diagnosing/debugging logical errors. The largest issue was the leak protection mechanism, which not only failed to close the valves, but also caused substantial damage to the board which took around 5 hours to fully repair. The output relay logic had to be re-wired to ensure proper activation during leak detection, and after repair, the pulse generator output was double isolated to prevent future catastrophic failure.
The damage occurred because the MCU kept trying to actuate the valves while the protection mechanism was active, so a submission to Conner was made to revise the code in order to shut down all outputs during leak protocol. Included in this request were other observed malfunctions which included pump hysteresis and not properly entering sleep mode.
Other accomplishments for this week included calibrating flow sensor output voltage to MCU, measuring circulation pump performance, integrating moisture sensor, integrating external charger port, and final assembly of valve enclosure, which included sealing and testing the compartments for water intrusion. All exterior joints were also grinded flush which each other to provide a consistent exterior finish.
Due to the overwhelming issues that were experienced with testing and completing the valve enclosure, I have made minimal contributions to the report, but now that all mechanical issues have been sorted out, efforts for the upcoming week will be catered towards it.
